Believe it or not something that can be very useful for the home at this time of year is the industrial heater. There are in fact several reasons why:
No Wood
There will be no money spent on wood keeping the fireplace going anymore, although I will say a fireplace can be a great thing to have indeed.

Cheaper
There are many arguments that having one of these heaters in the home could actually prove cheaper than running your central heating. Whilst I am not too sure on if this is true or not I know for a fact that if you are primarily sat in one room you are going to see the benefits of the heater because you will not need to be heating the rest of the home.
Help The Elderly
If you are someone that is either taking care of an elderly person or has an elderly within the home then you will know that they tend to stick to one room in the day and just head back to their bed at night. Quite often they can be cold when no one else is and this is a great way to bring in the heater. They will really appreciate it too!
If an industrial heater is too big for the home then why not look into something like portable heaters.

Yes, it is posible, you can get cheaper heating oil. And no, you do not have to find a supply of oil in your back garden in order to do this.
So if you use oil based heating (and there are over a million homes in the UK that do) all you hav to do is get involved with a heating oil buying group.
Easier said then done you might say?
Well, you could not be further from the truth - There is a website that is committed to getting buyers of heating oil cheaper prices, but I’d be suprised if you had heard of it.
Well let me introduce you to the world of BoilerJuice (quite a catchy name). So how will BoilerJuice save you money? Easy, you work together in buying groups.
The bigger your sepecific buying group, the bette the discount you will receive from the oil supplier. Buying from BoilerJuice will get as your own little co-operative.
The image to the left shows how the buying group works - Where you may have four households all buying oil seperately they are incurring extra costs. By combining the power of the four households you have a buying community, and more essentially, cheaper heating oil prices.
Nice Thinking
So how do you get mucked-in with a buying group? The system BoilerJuice have built lets others in your area know there are other people looking to buy heating oil - hey presto - a buying group can be formed. With heating oil buying groups it really is the more the merrier!
There is quite a lot of feedback about BoilerJuice on MoneySavingExpert, plus you can also find more information from the main BoilerJuice - UK site and BoilerJuice - Ireland site.

If you’re thinking about Buying a House, Selling a House, or even considering Renting a New Property.. Then there’s something new that you should know about.
As of the 10th of September this year, all homes in England and wales with three or more befrooms will need a ‘Home Information Pack‘. The pack will need to include an Energry Performance Certificate, containing advice on how to cut carbon emissions and fuel bills, and documents such as a sale-statement, searches, and ‘evidence of title’.
Currently, Michael Jones Lettings offer these packs at a fantastic price (well belonw the £300 + VAT benchmark set by major estate agents) along with their usual other services.
The ‘HIP’ scheme was introduced for four bedroom homes on August 1st of this year, and was rolled out to include three bedroom homes from the 10th of September, just over a month later.
Home Information Packs are an important thing to consider.
Have you got one?
