Posted: Dec 15, 2009 | Category: Home & Garden Ideas, Swimming Pools

A trampoline is not just something that you can use in the summer and they actuaklly come in useful during the winter period.

Why Is This?

Well one of the great things about a trampoline is that they can be used no matter the weather. If it is sunny then great, have a jump and enjoy the weather and if it is raining then it doesnt matter, put on those raincoats and get bouncing because the rain will fall straight through the mesh!

So get up and bouncing this Christmas by getting your kids a nice 10ft trampoline.

Doughboy Pool Coming Soon

Posted: Mar 17, 2009 | Category: Swimming Pools

doughboy_poolI’m just so excited. I’ve just ordered a Doughboy Pool and it should be at my house by the weekend. Myself and my brother are planning to spend the weekend erecting my new above ground pool and I just can’t wait.

Doughboy pools come in for some great praise from many satisfied UK customers. They’re reputed to be the best resin and steel framed pools on the market today and they have some great features like their expansion capability.

I’ve also ordered up a really neat pool heat pump system to warm the water so me and my family could be splashing around in our own pool by next week. Knowing my luck, and the lousy British weather, it’ll probably snow and freeze over at Easter. Fingers crossed it doesn’t.

In Ground vs Above Ground Swimming Pool Safety

Posted: Mar 03, 2009 | Category: Swimming Pools

gardimainHaving been considering getting a swimming pool for probably about 3 years I am finally biting the bullet and shelling out some of my hard earned cash to have a pool installed in my back garden.

The most important consideration I have is safety. I have three young children, all under the age of seven, two cats and a really dozy dog called Mutley. Having been toying with the idea of a pool for several years I have decided on an above ground design for a number of reasons (including ease of installation and cost), but safety was at the top of my list.

An above ground pool is immediately safer than an in-ground pool as it is simply much harder for children and animals to fall in. I read a story not so long ago about a horse that had wandered onto a snow covered pool cover and then fallen through into the pool requiring a rescue team to get him out.

Although the various above ground pools tend to be fixed in depth my young children can now all swim and I would never leave them unattended. I’m actually more concerned for some of their little friends who cannot swim yet. It is so easy for a little horseplay to quickly turn into disaster if a child falls into the pool and this is far less likely to happen with an above ground pool.

Then there is the cost. Above ground pools tend to be so much cheaper than an inground equivalent of the same size so that’s a good enough reason for me.
