I Love Gardening And So Should You

Paul's Version of Planting

As far back as I can remember I’ve loved gardening. When I was a small child I would spend countless hours in the dirt with my grandmother planting everything from cucumbers to corn. All summer I would spend the days of summer at my grandparent’s farm. I was really given two choices, work in the garden or study my spelling. Of course it was an easy choice since I loved gardening and hated school.

So that leads me to where I am today, still spending all summer in the garden, just now it is my backyard instead of the farm. This year I though I would plant a mix of vegetables. I stared with corn, then cauliflower, and finally cucumber. That was the easy part. I had to water them almost every day since this summer was so dry. I needed to get my man to chop down an intruding tree that was depriving my garden of the sun. So basically it was a lot of work to get those veggies.

Weeding is my least favorite part of gardening. This summer is was a lot better because I went out and decided to garden shovels for sale. Being down on my knees all summer is just unpleasant. Next year now that I think of it I might hire someone to come in every once in while and do it for me. All I need to do now is get my husband to pay for it.

Gardening tools make a big difference so I don’t know why people aren’t keener to gardening tools for sale. If I had it my way the house would be filled with every little tool that anyone has ever thought up. I love gardening and having the right tools makes it so much more enjoyable. Next time you are thinking of getting down and dirty, grab the right tool for the job and have fun!

    Haha. I like this video.
Yeah, nobody likes to weed but I have gotten some good thinking done while pulling weeds.

I have to admit that starting off with that video was great. It just shows how little humor some people have and how away from life they are. Fun is one of the biggest keys in life, and I loved how this video added fun to gardening. And your article itself was very nice as well. Sometimes it takes seeing something through the eyes of another to realize how great it really is. I also enjoy gardening, but I have a small problem. When I get into it, I find it hard to stop. In the past I’ve gotten so involved that I ended up spending more time than I could spare and falling short on other tasks because of it. I can also agree that pulling weeds is not as much fun as the initial planting, but I have to admit that I hate seeing the weeds in there more than I hate pulling them. The first garden of my own was a small strawberry patch when I was young, and I look forward to the days when I can do it again on a larger scale because eating a fresh fruit/veggie that you just picked from the garden you personally grew it in has so much more flavor than the store can offer.

Nice article and I totally agree, gardening is much more than a hobby, its a way of life. I can fully agree with you that weeding is the least favorite part of gardening. Thanks.
