Personal Protective Equipment - What Should You Use?
Posted: Sep 03, 2007 | Category: DIYWhen working on any home improvement project or professional build site, safety should always be of primary concern. For each individual job, what safety equipment should be used for each individual job?
Buy Brand Tools provide measuring tools, scaffolding tools, tiling tools and personal protective equipment to professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike, so what safety equipment should be worn for each specific job? Firstly we need to see what safety equipment is available.
Ear defenders are available for hearing protection, safety glasses / goggles should be worn to protect eyes from damage, fall arrest equipment should be used on scaffolding sites, gloves should be used to protect hands, hard hats to protect the head, work boots with steel toe caps to protect the feet and ankles.
So now we know what equipment is available, which should be used and when?
When using chain saws, extensive safety equipment should be used. Safety glasses / goggles will protect eyes from wood chippings, ear defenders protect hearing, a hard hat will protect you from falling debris and should the chain saw kick back, steel capped work boots should also be worn, as well as protective knee pads and trousers.
For use of non-electrical saws, you should wear safety goggles to protect eyes again from wood chippings.
On scaffold sites, hard hats and protective gloves should always be worn, as should fall arrest equipment.
When using a floor sander, safety goggles and a dust mask should be worn to protect your eyes and respiratory system from debris.
When drilling, safety goggles should be a priority. In some cases ear defenders and a dust mask should be considered.
You should always approach the use of such equipment with caution, and it pays to be prepared. Taking the necessary measures to ensure you have the right equipment will ensure your safety.

The list of tools that can assure your safety available is certainly impressive. But for gardening, it would be best to keep things simple; WORX provides gardening equipments such as lawn movers and hedge trimmers that work better compared to other tools of its kind.

It is also very important to make sure you wear earplugs when you are doing anything that requires loud machines. You’d be suprised how much damage your ears can take over the course of time with repeated abuse.
